Patient guides

Frequently asked questions before medical travel to China.

Before travel, many families need clarity on payments, documents, language, timing, and follow-up. This guide gathers practical questions for preparing a non-emergency visit with less uncertainty.

Practical guides for medical visits in China

Costs

Costs need case-by-case confirmation

Costs depend on the hospital, specialty, consultation type, tests, stay, medication, and need for accompaniment. An initial number may change if the doctor requests additional studies or the patient needs a different level of care.

Before travel, ask which payments are made in advance, which methods the hospital accepts, and which expenses are outside the hospital, such as transport, accommodation, or translation.

Appointments

Availability is not always immediate

Appointments depend on schedule, specialty, document review, and hospital rules. Some requests move quickly; others require more information before a date can be confirmed.

Organized documents and a clear visit goal help reduce back-and-forth. Even so, OrientCare cannot guarantee appointment availability or hospital acceptance.

Language

Language support should be planned

Although some international departments offer English service, the experience may vary by hospital, time, and available staff. Spanish-speaking patients should plan support before the visit.

Translation should help communicate questions and practical steps while keeping clinical decisions with the doctor.

Follow-up

The trip does not end when leaving the hospital

After the visit, there may be pending results, reports to collect, prescriptions, new appointments, or questions for the doctor. Plan how documents will be received and who will coordinate later communication.

OrientCare can support logistical and communication follow-up, but it does not decide treatment or interpret results as a healthcare professional.
